Following the Estorick Collection's incredibly successful 25th anniversary which featured the museum's most popular exhibition to date (Giorgio Morandi: Masterpieces from the Magnani-Rocca Foundation), Michael Estorick has announced that he is stepping down from his role as Chair of the Eric and Salome Estorick Foundation.
Michael was instrumental in establishing the Foundation and has been central to its development and success over the years. By establishing a home in Islington for the permanent display of the Estorick Collection, he has helped to raise the profile of modern Italian art in this country, while supporting the ground-breaking temporary exhibitions and education programmes that give pleasure to so many.
The Trustees wish to thank Michael for his extraordinary efforts to promote the aims of the Foundation over the years, and are delighted that he will not only continue as a trustee but will also take on the position of honorary President of the Foundation. Current trustees Jane McNeill and Alexander Phillips have now been appointed as Co-Chairs of the Foundation with trustee Alexander Estorick taking on the new role of Vice Chair. The Board and staff look forward to many more successful years under their leadership.
